The ABB CM‑MSS.13S is a thermistor motor protection relay designed to monitor the temperature of electric motors fitted with PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) thermistor sensors. It continuously measures the motor winding temperature via the PTC sensor circuit and provides a single change‑over (SPDT) contact output for control or alarm signaling. When the temperature exceeds a preset threshold indicating overheating, the relay changes state to protect the motor. The device is suitable for mounting on a DIN rail inside control panels and is used in industrial motor protection systems.
