The ABB PSE85-600-70 is a microprocessor-based electronic motor starter that integrates soft-start capability, comprehensive motor protection, and control functions into a single, compact unit. Part of ABB's PSE series, it is designed to replace traditional electromechanical starting methods (such as Star-Delta starters) by providing smooth, controlled acceleration and deceleration of three-phase AC induction motors. This reduces mechanical stress on the motor, coupling, and driven equipment while limiting inrush current on the electrical supply.
