The Schneider Electric ESLIM is a unique, externally mounted modular current limiter designed for use with specific ranges of molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs). It is installed in series with and directly on the line side of a compatible host circuit breaker. Its primary function is to drastically and rapidly limit the peak and thermal energy of prospective short-circuit currents before the main breaker's contacts fully open.
Parameters:
Parameter Value / Description
Product Name ESLIM (Energy Selective Limiting Module)
Function Ultra-fast current limiter
Installation Externally mounted, upstream of and in series with a compatible host MCCB.
Key Performance Metric Limiting Breaking Capacity (Ics lim): Up to 200 kA at 415V AC (for the highest-rated ESLIM versions). This is the conditional short-circuit current it can safely limit in conjunction with its specified host breaker.
Application Goal Enables a host MCCB with a lower Icu rating (e.g., 36kA or 50kA) to be used in a circuit where the available/prospective short-circuit current (Ipk) is much higher (e.g., 70kA, 100kA).
Let-through Current Reduction
Rated Operational Voltage (Ue) Up to 400/415V AC (for the 40kA let-through series).
Compatible Breaker Series Compact NSX100, NSX160, NSX250 (with specific TM-D or Micrologic trip units).
Acti 9 iC60H, iC60L series.
Standards IEC 60947-2 (as part of an assembled circuit-breaker combination)
